Interview by Ruud Dreessen aka ebm-industrial.nl

For the first question will be - do you know the netherland?

GYOM:Hi there, i came once in the netherlands some years ago for a summer darkness festival. it's a nice country

CHARLINE:No, I don’t know the netherland, I never came there because there is no vodka in this country.

Do you follow the electronic music scene, do you have any other favourite bands?

GYOM: -

CHARLINE :Euh a little because I prefer horrorpunk/ rockabilly.death rock scene but I try to follow other bands like psyclon nine, laibach, david guetta or Johnny hallyday

GYOM: J

Greetings A7IE could you please shortly introduce our readers your music project A7IE Please fill also a biographical resume about how, when and where...give us a more background information?

GYOM : The project is born something like 10 years ago, a self reflection of my mood and feelings. It was first an instrumental project with hard beats and dark backgrounds. A7ie ( pronounce aseptie ) definitely bornt when I decided to use vocals in the tracks.

Then Charline joins me for live concerts on keyboards, and contributes for the music writing of the new songs

How did you start to make,Electro Industrial, and what is Gothic for you?

GYOM : I started music when I was 10 as bass player. Splits after splits, I decided to make my own music on my computer when I was 15. But it was only for fun.

Gothic ?? just a simple word to define everything and nothing. State of mind, clothes, music… it’s just a joke for me

CHARLINE : I have start to interest in Electro Industrial when I have met Jean Gyom !!! And I don’t know what is gothic, maybe a culture or just a sticker ? I don’t care...

What and who are some of your influences in,Electro Industrial?

GYOM : I don’t know if they really influence me in music writing, but I really like Wumpscut or Dive

CHARLINE : Electro industrial don’t influence me, I prefer horror punk.

GYOM : I always ask myself why she joined a7ie J

What are your top ten favorite,Electro Industrial,Club Songs of all time? Who are you influenced by? What would you consider your favorite cd's?

GYOM : You are forbidden to laugh J

Projekt pitchfork : Souls
Wumpscut : Soylent Green
Suicide Commando : See You In Hell ( THE club hit )

CHARLINE : Hahaaaa I have seen Project Pitchfork yesterdaaayyyy !!!

Do you have a favourite track and album?

GYOM : -

CHARLINE : Actually,  Lordi “blood red sandam” and “We like monster men” by Iggy pop !!!

So tell me a bit more about yourself, such as musical?

GYOM : -

CHARLINE : i’m just dirty drunken, if you want to know more about me, you will have to pay.

By the way do you like my questions? tell me what you think about it! ;-)

GYOM : I like to reply to the interviews but I hate define myself J

CHARLINE : BURP !!

What is the main idea, the message you want to leave to people who listens to you? What is your motto?

GYOM : I want to help people who listen to our music to live their hole. I don’t know if life is too short, but we have to live it plainfully

CHARLINE : « Toutes des salopes et tous des crevards...foutez moi la paix » ( in french )

"distress 2007 and the shattering 2010" where did the concept come from? and whats planned now that your album is finished? or anything else you're working on? Tell me why this title,"distress' and "shatterig" Tell us a few words about the concept of this?
GYOM : Distress 2007 reveals sad and depressive music and lyrics. It describes a moment of my life, a s.o.s that have never been heard before. Now tears have been cried and I would like people who lived this s.o.s to wake, and shattering would be my tool.

Tell me about the germany label Rupal Records?
GYOM : Our debut album Distress 2007 was released in France on La Chambre Froide and worldwide on Rupal Records, the home of bands like Wynardtage, DavAntage or Acylum ( now on alfa matrix ). I had a great contact with them as far as they are not our actual label anymore.

How is the current promotional tour going for supporting this album?
GYOM : There is no promotional tour locked for the moment, we count on the album issue to finde live dates in Europe or else. We are open to any proposal. Next gig will be in march in a French festival.

What do you think of a modern,Electro Industrial, and about,Electro Industrial, scene?

GYOM : -

CHARLINE : Kill the cybers !!!

Our usual question - what is music for you?

GYOM : Maybe it will naïve saying music is my reason to live, but music helped and help me again to reveal my feelings and desires. Things I cannot do in my usual life.

CHARLINE : Same

What was your best live experience so far?

GYOM : We only made 8 live concerts and they are all my best live experiences, because each time I discovered new things about myself. It’s always a pleasure to share our music with the audience, here in france or in different countries.

CHARLINE : Our last one was great, i twas at Pfaffenhoffen ( France ) for a gothic festival.

you have very nice numbers`.............. tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music creation process work? How do you create a song?

GYOM : There is no real creation process, it sometimes starts with a simple melodie or with some words spited on the microphone

CHARLINE :

Since the music industry is more open now to purely electronic music has this made things easier for you?

GYOM : I don’t know where is our rank in this music scene, but I don’t think music industry helped us to grow. The main support is from people, essentially from myspace or communities like this.

CHARLINE :

Do you think that people from the music press didn't expect you to grow up musically?

GYOM : all kind of reviews make us learn, so that’s great. Also, let them spread A7ie name in their pages, bad or good things, the audience has the right to choose by itself

CHARLINE : FUCK

How do you see the future of download / Copyright in area of goth-,Electro Industrial, music ? What are the best ways to develop it in your mind ?

GYOM : Digital download is a good thing for the scene, especially for bands that cannot make a physical release or that cannot make a decent promotion. We recently found a great digital platform, and we hope to make a great work with them to diffuse our music. Bands like us really need them to pay and make merchandising or tours.

CHARLINE :

If there was one thing you want people to know about your band what would that be?
GYOM : -
CHARLINE :
